The institutional purpose of BRIHA is to provide state-of-the-art education and training in the practice of massage therapy. The rationale for opening the school is to increase the number of competent and qualified licensed massage therapists in the greater Fredericksburg area (Stafford and Spotsylvania Counties and the City of Fredericksburg). BRIHA obtained certification in Virginia by SCHEV to be able to train professionals to sit for licensure in Virginia and other states in order to obtain a license to practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist.
